Rocket
Birth Date: April 18, 2005
This handsome horse acquired his name from rocketing around the pastures in Montana’s Nine Mile Valley as a foal. Some of Dunrovin’s guests are intimated by the name – but they need not worry. Rocket is a mellow fellow; and if anything, he is a bit on the lazy side. You may have to coach him along to stride out, but once he hits his classic Tennessee Walking Horse running walk, you’re in horse heaven. His walk is smooth, fast, and even. Rocket would be a blue ribbon winning horse were he to be put in the show ring.
Rocket is in the habit of stealing the heart of every kid or adult who has the pleasure of meeting him. For one thing, he really is gorgeous. His beautiful mane and copper color just beg to be hugged. His alert and kind eyes draw you in, and his friendly, easy going nature makes him seem like an old friend. Rocket is like a big teenage boy who is completely unaware of his good looks, goofy at times, and fun loving. Several local riders and more than one Dunrovin wrangler has chosen Rocket at “their” horse.
He is also the kind of horse that guest ranch owners crave because of his dependability. He is totally happy leading a group of his herd mates, being the middle of the pack, or playing the role of the caboose. He gets along splendidly with the entire herd and never causes troubles on the trail. He never balks when confronted with challenges as he wades right into deep rivers or boulder strewn rushing streams. With his long stride, he can easily step over and around fallen tress. He isn’t intimated by bicycle traffic or wildlife. In short, Rocket is an all around good guy with plenty of looks and charm.
