Whiskey
Birth date: June 29, 2002
Whiskey’s copper color makes him a real stand out. SuzAnne jokingly tells people that Whiskey should have been named Dubonnet as he belongs in a fine French restaurant rather than a western saloon. He is such a refined and handsome gentleman, yet he also has something of a rakish and competitive side. On the trail he is always pushing to be first; he happily canters along, will stay in his fast, smooth running walk for miles, and really chews up the ground when given the opportunity. He never give his rider any trouble; children love him, beginning riders love him, and experienced riders are enchanted with his responsiveness to their cues.
Whiskey comes from a horse and cattle ranch in Montana’s Nine Mile Valley and he loves nothing better than chasing after cattle. It is in his blood. While nearly all of the Dunrovin horses are fine with cattle, Whiskey really understands them and could easily be used as a cutting horse.
Attention is also something Whisky loves. He eagerly comes to the gate to greet visitors, stands for hours being groomed, and loves a nice cold bath on a hot summer’s day. Drinking from a garden hose and kicking a soccer ball are two of his many talents. He is patient in the trailers and on the rail, a solid athlete who never tires, and has a great personality. What more could one ask for in a horse?
